As I sit here in my home office with the sounds of my six favorite 'young people' playing cards echoing in my background and listening to a Christian music radio station, I hear the song, "How can I keep from singing?" "No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that Rock I'm clinging, since Love is Lord of heav'n and earth, how can I keep from singing?" That kind of captures where my head is as I look back on my first almost-full year of being self-employed after 29 years of bringing in a steady paycheck. As some know this year has had a lot of joys and challenges from a family perspective. With any new venture there's going to be a learning curve and opportunities for growth. Looking back on the past 11-ish months I am filled with so much thankfulness for my clients and friends. Particularly in light of the crazy that we've called 2020 and 2021, there's been opportunity to help people particularly with tax issues that has brought a lot of personal satisfaction as I see complicated situations get resolved. But what it's all about is people - relationships - sharing life together. Those are the parts that make me grateful for the past year in particular and excited about the future. Thanksgiving blessings to you!
