Tax Deadlines

stancook5

So tax deadlines. Hate 'em. Always have. I try to stay ahead of them - sometimes with more success than others. But so far we've cleared the March 1 farmer filing deadline, and tomorrow we're set to clear the March 15 deadline for LLC's and most calendar year corporations. If you're having that "oh crud" feeling - it's not too late. Just need to file an extension by March 15. And - while there's never a guarantee in tax world, I've heard concerns over the years about how filing an extension might put a taxpayer on the radar for IRS scrutiny. I've never seen it happen, and honestly the risk of being hit with penalties for not timely filing a tax return or extension is much higher than perceived "on the radar" risk. So if you haven't yet filed your partnership/LLC or corporate tax returns - let's at least get an extension filed so we successfully clear yet another deadline. Next deadline? It's the big one - April 15! Take care and happy taxing (if that's a thing...)
