IRS Notice - CP59

stancook5

Any time we get a notice from the IRS bad things happen to our blood pressure, etc. I've had a few conversations recently about how important it is to not just assume a notice from the IRS or any state taxing authority is automatically correct. Here's a great example - as shown in the text below from the IRS' statement, approximately 260,000 taxpayers were sent notices that their 2019 tax return was not filed. Check out https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-statement-about-cp59-notices - short version, the IRS states the notices should not have been sent and taxpayers who filed their 2019 return can disregard the letter and do not need to take any action. Make it a great day, all!
