Indiana unemployment benefits 2020

stancook5

Hi all - quick note on a snowy Indiana morning. There's been some confusion already about reporting of Indiana unemployment benefits. Per the attached note from Indiana Department of Workforce Development (link https://www.in.gov/dwd/indiana-unemployment/individuals/1099g/) most likely taxpayers who received unemployment benefits in 2020 won't receive a 1099-G in the mail but will have to go online. Unfortunately, the benefits generally result in taxable income regardless of whether a 1099 comes in the mail. I have my own concerns about all this but for now, let's just say I'm wanting to let you know. Stay warm and safe!!
